About Motoring Insider

1What we do

Motoring Insider sells vehicle history reports. A report checks a UK registration for outstanding finance, write-off and theft records, mileage, previous keepers and its full MOT history, so you can see a vehicle's past before you buy it. Anyone can run a free check of a vehicle's tax, MOT and basic details first.

We also publish free pages built from official open data. Every figure names its source and date, and the data sources page lists every dataset we use.

2Who runs it

Motoring Insider is a trading name of Multimedia Projects Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 05508063, ICO registration ZA522168.

Motoring Insider is run by Multimedia Projects Ltd, which is under common ownership with Multiquoter Ltd, the company behind Clean Green Cars.

3How we are paid

We are paid by the people and businesses who buy our reports. Our free pages are not paid for by the organisations whose data they show. Where a page carries a paid link, it says so beside the link.

4How we write

Our pages and figures are written by the Motoring Insider data team. We use the publishers' own figures and say how we work anything out from them, and we correct mistakes when we find them. The credit lines our data licences ask for are on the attribution page.
