Every Aston Martin Vantage recall

Newest first. The concern is the part or system affected, the defect is what can go wrong, and the remedy is what the manufacturer does to put it right.

  1. RA-03-1973 – Oil Cooler Hoses

    R/2024/356, launched 18 September 2024. Also covers the DB12, DBX707

Defect: On affected vehicles the oil hoses for the engine oil cooler may be prone to split with a resulting loss of oil and oil pressure.

Remedy: On the affected vehicles the oil cooler hoses will be replaced

  2. CERTAIN FIXINGS ON THE FRONT SEAT AIR BAG MAY NOT HAVE BEEN TIGHTENED TO THE CORRECT TORQUE

R/2020/280, launched 12 October 2020, 20 vehicles affected across the models it covers. Also covers the DB11, Dbs

Defect: Certain fixings on the front seat airbag may not have been ‘tightened’ to the correct torque.

Remedy: Examine the front seat airbag fixings and if necessary secure the fixings.

  3. THE VEHICLES MAY NOT HAVE HAD THEIR PASSENGER AIRBAG FIXINGS TIGHTENED TO THE CORRECT TORQUE

R/2019/396, launched 19 November 2019, 15 vehicles affected across the models it covers. Also covers the DB11, Dbs

Defect: Vehicles may not have had their passenger airbag fixings ‘tightened’ to the correct torque specification

Remedy: Examine the passenger airbag fixings and if necessary secure the fixings.

  4. HYDRAULIC CONNECTOR MAY LEAK

R/2017/205, launched 23 June 2017, 10 vehicles affected across the models it covers

Defect: A hydraulic connector may fail and cause a transmission oil leak. This may have an adverse effect on gear selection.

Remedy: Add a support bracket which will be installed to hold the pipe securely in position and prevent movement of the assembly.

  5. HYDRAULIC CONNECTOR MAY LEAK

R/2017/204, launched 23 June 2017, 165 vehicles affected across the models it covers

Defect: A hydraulic connector may fail and cause a transmission oil leak. This may have an adverse effect on gear selection.

Remedy: On affected vehicles replace the clutch pipe connector assembly related brackets and parts

  6. TRANSMISSION CAN CHANGE GEAR WITHOUT CONTROL FROM DRIVER

R/2017/202, launched 23 June 2017, 290 vehicles affected across the models it covers

Defect: As part of a software update the stored adjustment settings for the automatic clutch were not deleted and re-taught. These stored settings are incompatible with the updated software and can result in incorrect operation in certain circumstances. This may adversely affect gear changes including uncommanded selection of neutral. If neutral is selected manual gear selection will be available.

Remedy: On affected vehicles the clutch software will be re-installed and the system re-taught.

  7. SEAT MAY OVERHEAT

R/2014/163, launched 2 December 2014, 8,299 vehicles affected across the models it covers. Also covers the DB9, Dbs, ONE77, Virage, Zagato

Defect: On affected vehicles The control module for the front heated seats mail fail and when the ignition is switched on allow a permanent feed to the heater element(s). In this condition it may not be possible to switch off the heater element and over a period of time this may cause a seat to overheat and smouldering to occur. Occupants will notice an inability to switch the seat heater off using the designated switch and over longer periods a higher than normal temperature of the seat squab.

Remedy: Fit additional seat heater monitoring modules. Where necessary seat elements may also be replaced.

  8. DIRECTIONAL CONTROL MAY BE AFFECTED

R/2012/112, launched 12 November 2012, 307 vehicles affected across the models it covers

Defect: It has been established that the Tyre Pressure Management System (TPMS) ECU had been installed with incorrect specification software for the front axle. The software allows for a greater tyre pressure difference between tyres on the front axle. If this occurs it could in extreme circumstances affect the stability and directional control of the vehicle.

Remedy: Recall all affected vehicles and install the correct software.

  9. STEERING RESPONSE MAY BE INCORRECT

R/2009/085, launched 14 August 2009, 18 vehicles affected across the models it covers. Also covers the DB9, Dbs

Defect: It has been identified that during the build process of the subject vehicles a safety critical action to check the torque of the front sub frame assembly bolts was omitted. Should the situation be ignored the driver would become aware of an unusual steering response.

Remedy: Recalled vehicles will have the subject bolts inspected to ascertain whether they have been paint marked to indicate that the torque has been checked during production. Should this not be the case the bolts will be re-torqued.

  10. ENGINE MAY NOT START

R/2006/021, launched 8 February 2006, 125 vehicles affected across the models it covers

Defect: The engine may not start because the power train to chassis primary earth stud may have intermittent high resistance. This condition may occur when electrical items that draw high current are utilised in which case the electrical path could route through the rear braided hoses causing them to heat up and possibly melt leading to a soft pedalillumination of the brake warning lamp and poor starting.

Remedy: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected so the primary earth stud can be moved to a new location and fit a secondary earth strap between the transmission and chassis.

  11. INTERMITTENT LOSS OF ENGINE POWER ON START UP.

R/2000/106, launched 9 October 2000, 481 vehicles affected across the models it covers. Also covers the DB7, Volante

Remedy: Affected Vehicles are being recalled for replacement of the power train control module.(PCM)

  12. IMPEDED REAR ROAD WHEEL STABILITY COULD OCCUR

R/2000/041, launched 10 April 2000, 110 vehicles affected across the models it covers

Defect: One of the three variants of de Dion rear axle tube assemblies may suffer from stress cracks between the rear hub to axle tube interface following extended use. This could result in impeded rear road wheel stability should failure occur.

Remedy: Recall affected vehicles to check and/or replace rear axle.
