Every Audi Q8 e-tron recall

Newest first. The concern is the part or system affected, the defect is what can go wrong, and the remedy is what the manufacturer does to put it right.

  1. Checking brake servo

R/2026/168, launched 17 April 2026, 11,327 vehicles affected across the models it covers

Defect: On affected vehicles the bolted connection for the push rod between the brake pedal and brake servo may come loose with the risk that it will no longer be possible to stop by using the brake pedal.

Remedy: Check the bolted connection for the push rod between the brake pedal and brake servo and tighten if necessary.

  2. Replacing brake servo

R/2024/344, launched 6 September 2024, 37 vehicles affected across the models it covers

Defect: On certain Audi e-tron vehicles the bolted connection between the brake pedal and brake servo might not be properly secured. If it loosens the mechanical link between the foot brake and brake servo could fail. In such cases braking would only be possible using the controlled emergency braking function by holding the parking brake button on the centre console (see Owner’s Manual).

Remedy: For safety reasons the brake servo must be replaced on the affected vehicles.

  3. Checking brake lines

R/2024/259, launched 18 June 2024, 37 vehicles affected across the models it covers

Defect: On affected vehicles the bolts for the brake pressure lines may have been tightened too far. In such cases the bolted connection may fail resulting in brake fluid escaping.

Remedy: Check the bolted connection and replace the brake pressure lines if required.

  4. Checking high-voltage battery

R/2024/041, launched 21 February 2024, 387 vehicles affected across the models it covers

Defect: Certain vehicles with a specific type of high-voltage battery may have cell modules with technical irregularities regarding their charging and discharging characteristics. This may lead to the high-voltage battery overheating potentially creating a risk of fire.

Remedy: To minimise this risk temporarily do not charge the high-voltage battery above 80 percent capacity. The vehicle will be inspected and where necessary the individual cells within the high voltage battery will be replaced.

  5. Checking high-voltage battery

R/2024/040, launched 21 February 2024, 2,379 vehicles affected across the models it covers

  6. FOLLOWING A PREVIOUS CAMPAIGN THE TOE AND/OR CAMBER VALUES ON THE REAR AXLE MAY IN CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES INCORRECTLY BE CHANGED WITHOUT THIS BEING NOTICED

    R/2022/036, launched 14 February 2022, 5,327 vehicles affected across the models it covers. Also covers the A4, A5, A6, A8, Q5, Q7, Q8

Defect: Following a previous campaign the toe and/or camber values on the rear axle may in certain circumstances incorrectly be changed without this being noticed.

Remedy: The wheel alignment must be checked and if necessary the suspension must be serviced on the affected vehicles.

  7. COMPONENTS OF THE BRAKE PRESSURE UNIT MAY CORRODE DURING THE VEHICLES'S SERVICE LIFE

R/2021/398, launched 18 October 2021, 119 vehicles affected across the models it covers

Defect: Components of the brake pressure unit may corrode during the vehicle’s service life.

Remedy: The electromechanical brake servo must be replaced on the affected vehicles.

  8. A BRAKE SERVO WHICH HAS A MANUFACTURING DISCREPANCY MAY HAVE BEEN FITTED

R/2021/306, launched 27 August 2021, 292 vehicles affected across the models it covers

Defect: On vehicles manufactured within a specific period a brake servo which has a manufacturing discrepancy may have been fitted.

Remedy: The electromechanical brake servo must be replaced on the affected vehicles.

  9. There may be a loss of power and the message Safely stop vehicle may appear.

R/2021/305, launched 15 August 2021, 58 vehicles affected across the models it covers

Defect: There may be a loss of power and the message ‘Safely stop vehicle’ may appear.

Remedy: Conduct a software update of the electric drive on the vehicles affected.

  10. REAR AXLE SUSPENSION LINKS NUTS DO NOT MEET SPECIFICATIONS

    R/2021/236, launched 25 June 2021, 10,089 vehicles affected across the models it covers. Also covers the A4, A5, A6, A8, Q5, Q7, Q8

Defect: One or more nuts which do not meet the specifications may have been fitted on the rear axle suspension links.

Remedy: The affected nuts on the rear axle will be replaced on affected vehicles.

  11. WATER MAY ENTER THE HIGH VOLTAGE BATTERY

R/2019/182, launched 6 June 2019, 238 vehicles affected across the models it covers

Defect: Water ingress into the high- voltage battery potentially causing a short circuit and risk of fire.

Remedy: Permanent solution being developed. Owners offered an alternative vehicle until solution availible if required.
