Every Chevrolet Aveo recall

Newest first. The concern is the part or system affected, the defect is what can go wrong, and the remedy is what the manufacturer does to put it right.

  1. Chevrolet UK Takata Drivers Airbag

R/2025/036, launched 4 February 2025. Also covers the Cruze, Orlando, Trax

Defect: On affected vehicles the chemicals in the Takata airbags may deteriorate over time which may cause the inflator to rupture and lead to serious injury.

Remedy: Exchange affected airbag modules as a precautionary measure.

  2. UNDER VEHICLE ROLLOVER CONDITIONS FUEL MAY LEAK

R/2016/075, launched 3 May 2016, 17 vehicles affected across the models it covers

Defect: Incorrect fuel pump seals were provided to all markets as Aftersales (AS) service parts for the Subject Vehicles. There is a possibility that some of them were used for the replacement and/or repair. In the event that the incorrect Aftersales service parts were used for replacement and/or repair there may be a possibility of fuel leakage under vehicle rollover conditions.

Remedy: On affected vehicles replace fuel pump seal

  3. VEHICLE MAY MOVE UNINTENDEDLY WHEN GEARS ARE ENGAGED

R/2015/010, launched 19 January 2015, 459 vehicles affected across the models it covers

Defect: On affected vehicles the engine may crank by itself and run for a short period when the ignition key has been left in the ignition barrel in ‘OFF’ position. This is due to abnormal wear of key cylinder trigger. If in gear the vehicle may move unintentionally

Remedy: Replace the ignition key cylinder on affected vehicles

  4. BRAKING EFFICIENCY MAY BE AFFECTED

R/2012/090, launched 28 August 2012, 38,876 vehicles affected across the models it covers. Also covers the Captiva, Epica, Kalos, Lacetti, Matiz, Nubira, Optra, Spark, Tosca

Defect: Incorrect type of brake fluid installed at production could cause internal corrosion of the ABS module. This corrosion can lead to a gel build up inside the module which may affect the closing motion of one of the valves. There will be no external loss of fluid or reduction in fluid level but it is possible the driver could feel excessive brake pedal travel. In some circumstances there may be reduced braking performance.

Remedy: Inspection of the brake fluid using a scan tool. Drain and replace the fluid and replace the brake fluid reservoir cap (All models except Captiva & Epica/Tosca). Erase ''DOT 3'' text from the customers Owner's Manual (All models except Captiva & Epica/Tosca). Add information regarding the use of DOT 4 brake fluid.
