Every Cupra Born recall
Newest first. The concern is the part or system affected, the defect is what can go wrong, and the remedy is what the manufacturer does to put it right.
Charging Limitation to 80%
R/2026/396, launched 14 October 2026, 495 vehicles affected across the models it covers
Defect: In CUPRA Born vehicles equipped with high-voltage batteries of a certain type there is a suspicion that manufacturing problems may have occurred in certain components of the high-voltage battery on the part of the supplier.
Remedy: In an initial phase customers whose vehicles are equipped with high-voltage batteries from the affected batch will receive a recall letter including warning labels to attach to the charging socket and the dashboard as well as the instruction to not charge above 80% (Battery Care Mode) for safety reasons. Furthermore where technical requirements exist we will limit the maximum available charging capacity of your vehicle to 80% (Battery Care Mode) via the system.
High-voltage modules replacement
R/2026/040, launched 4 February 2026, 2 vehicles affected across the models it covers
Defect: On affected vehicles it's possible a faulty module has been installed in the high-voltage battery which may cause either a loss of range a yellow warning lamp to light up or a risk of the battery overheating leading to a fire.
Remedy: Check and replace the affected battery modules.

What to do next
If you own a Cupra Born, check its registration on GOV.UK and ask a Cupra dealer whether any recall work is outstanding. If you are buying one, ask the seller for proof the work was done, and run a Motoring Insider history check for finance, write-offs and the MOT history.
