Every Honda Accord recall

Newest first. The concern is the part or system affected, the defect is what can go wrong, and the remedy is what the manufacturer does to put it right.

  1. THE ABSORPTION OF MOISTURE INTO THE DRIVER'S AIR BAG PROPELLANT COULD LEAD TO SLOW DEPLOYMENT OR INFLATOR RUPTURE

R/2020/061, launched 23 October 2020, 42,435 vehicles affected across the models it covers. Also covers the CR-V, Civic, EV Plus, Integra, Legend, Logo, Shuttle

Defect: The absorption of moisture into the driver’s airbag propellant could lead to slow deployment or inflator rupture.

Remedy: Replace the airbag inflator or the airbag assembly. Honda is still preparing for the development and production of the remedy parts.

  2. POSSIBLE AIR BAG INFLATOR RUPTURE

R/2019/243, launched 29 August 2019, 122,397 vehicles affected across the models it covers. Also covers the CR-V, Civic, Insight, Jazz, Stream

Defect: Passenger air bag may not deploy correctly.

Remedy: The inflator inside the passenger’s airbag module is to be replaced.

  3. INNER PRESSURE OF THE INFLATOR MAY IRREGULARLY RISE UPON AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT RUPTURING THE INFLATOR CONTAINER

R/2019/125, launched 29 May 2019, 9 vehicles affected across the models it covers. Also covers the Civic, Odyssey

Defect: Driver air bag may not ignite correctly.

Remedy: Replace the drivers air bag assembly.

  4. TAKATA PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATOR MAY RUPTURE

R/2018/342, launched 30 January 2019, 119,827 vehicles affected across the models it covers. Also covers the Insight, Jazz

Defect: Passenger airbag inflators may not operate as intended.

Remedy: Replacement of Airbag Assembly on affected vehicles.

  5. PASSENGER AIRBAG MAY FAIL TO DEPLOY CORRECTLY

R/2018/029, launched 23 February 2018, 20,298 vehicles affected across the models it covers. Also covers the Insight, Jazz

Defect: The propellant used in certain air bag inflators may degrade over time due to heat cycles and exposure to moisture. In the event that the airbag is activated it may overinflate due to overly aggressive combustion of the propellant. The excessive internal pressure may cause the inflator body to rupture and metal fragments may pass through the cushion material possibly causing severe injury to the vehicle occupants.

Remedy: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and replace the airbag inflator unit.

  6. AIRBAG MAY FAIL TO DEPLOY CORRECTLY

R/2017/017, launched 28 March 2017, 22,805 vehicles affected across the models it covers. Also covers the CR-V, Civic, Jazz, Legend

Defect: Abnormal deployment pressure may lead to rupture of the passenger's air bag inflator case. In the event of an inflator rupture metal fragments could be propelled into the passenger compartment

Remedy: On affected vehicles replace the inflator inside the passenger's air bag module.

  7. PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG MAY FAIL TO DEPLOY CORRECTLY

R/2015/104, launched 29 June 2015, 242,653 vehicles affected across the models it covers. Also covers the CR-V, Civic, Insight, Jazz, Stream

Defect: Abnormal deployment pressure may lead to rupture of the inflator case. In the event of an inflator rupture metal fragments could be propelled upward toward the windshield or downward toward the front passenger’s foot well potentially causing injury to a vehicle occupant.

Remedy: On affected vehicles replace the inflator inside the front passenger’s airbag module with a new one.

  8. PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG MAY FAIL TO DEPLOY CORRECTLY

R/2015/043, launched 16 March 2015, 31,135 vehicles affected across the models it covers. Also covers the CR-V, Civic, Jazz, Stream

Defect: The subject vehicles are equipped with front passenger airbag inflators which could have been assembled with improperly manufactured propellant wafers. Improperly manufactured propellant wafers could cause the inflator to rupture and the front passenger airbag to deploy abnormally in a crash. This could result in increased risk of injury to the occupant or in a thermal issue in the interior compartment which may lead to fire.

Remedy: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to inspect and where necessary replace the airbag inflator module.

  9. PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG MAY FAIL TO DEPLOY CORRECTLY

R/2013/049, launched 17 April 2013, 60,365 vehicles affected across the models it covers.

  10. ENGINE MAY FAIL

R/2011/055, launched 4 July 2011, 8,519 vehicles affected across the models it covers

Defect: Due to an inappropriate software setting of the Engine Control Unit the oil level in the engine may increase due to fuel dilution during the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) regeneration. If the oil level increases too much it may prevent the engine from decelerating as intended the engine may continue to run even if the ignition is switched off. This may result in engine failure. The driver will not have any warning of this failure.

Remedy: The dealer will rewrite the engine software and replace the engine oil and engine filter.

  11. ENGINE MAY CUT OUT

R/2007/061, launched 5 April 2007, 6,113 vehicles affected across the models it covers. Also covers the FR-V, Jazz

Defect: The fuel pump relay may fail which will result in either the engine not starting or stalling.

Remedy: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to check and where necessary place the fuel pump relay.

  12. LACK OF PROTECTION TO THE WIRING HARNESS IN THE BOOT

R/2004/161, launched 1 November 2004, 16,685 vehicles affected across the models it covers

Defect: It has been identified that a wiring harness located in the boot is not adequately protected and is therefore susceptible to damage. Should damage occur on e or more of the electrical functions fed by that harness may be rendered inoperative.

Remedy: Likely to be affected vehicles will be recalled at which time the subject wiring harness will be protected by the fitment of a corrugated tube.

  13. INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS MAY FAIL

R/2004/119, launched 4 October 2004, 2,737 vehicles affected across the models it covers
