Every Honda FR-V recall
Newest first. The concern is the part or system affected, the defect is what can go wrong, and the remedy is what the manufacturer does to put it right.
DRIVERS AIRBAG INFLATOR MAY RUPTURE IF DEPLOYED
R/2016/045, launched 16 May 2016, 252,174 vehicles affected across the models it covers. Also covers the CR-V, Civic, Jazz, Legend
Defect: Abnormal deployment pressure may lead to rupture of the driver's air bag inflator case. In the event of an inflator rupture metal fragments could be propelled into the passenger compartment.
Remedy: On affected vehicles replace the inflator inside the driver's air bag module.
BRAKE EFFICIENCY MAY BE REDUCED
R/2013/075, launched 4 July 2013, 2,042 vehicles affected across the models it covers. Also covers the S2000
Defect: Brake assistance may be reduced or lost due to a manufacturing nonconformance. This could lead to longer stopping distances than the driver would normally expect.
Remedy: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to check the servo and where necessary replace the servo unit.
ENGINE MAY CUT OUT
R/2007/061, launched 5 April 2007, 6,113 vehicles affected across the models it covers. Also covers the Accord, Jazz
Defect: The fuel pump relay may fail which will result in either the engine not starting or stalling.
Remedy: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to check and where necessary place the fuel pump relay.
ENGINE MAY STALL
R/2006/022, launched 20 March 2006, 1,296 vehicles affected across the models it covers
Defect: The engine may hesitate or cut out due to air accumulating in the fuel strainer which is then drawn in by the high pressure fuel pump. This in turn results in low fuel pressure leading to hesitation illuminating MIL lamp on and possible stalling.
Remedy: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and fit a redesigned fuel strainer.

What to do next
If you own a Honda FR-V, check its registration on GOV.UK and ask a Honda dealer whether any recall work is outstanding. If you are buying one, ask the seller for proof the work was done, and run a Motoring Insider history check for finance, write-offs and the MOT history.
