Every Infiniti Q30 recall
Newest first. The concern is the part or system affected, the defect is what can go wrong, and the remedy is what the manufacturer does to put it right.
GEAR SHIFT INDICATOR MAY NOT BEHAVE AS INTENDED
R/2018/382, launched 4 January 2019, 1,636 vehicles affected across the models it covers. Also covers the QX30
Defect: The gear shift indicator may not display under specific driving conditions.
Remedy: Upgrade the gear shift indicator software.
DRIVER'S AIRBAG MAY DEPLOY
R/2017/293, launched 2 January 2018, 4,970 vehicles affected across the models it covers. Also covers the QX30
Defect: The steering column has no electrical connection to ground other than the spiral cable. In the event that the spiral cable is damaged the airbag warning light will illuminate. If the customer ignores the warning light and continues to drive for extended periods electrostatic charge may be discharged through the electrical circuit of the drivers airbag. In an extreme case this discharge could be sufficient to trigger an unintended deployment of the driver airbag.
Remedy: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and fit a slip ring to the steering column on all potentially affected vehicles.
SUPPLEMENTARY RESTARINT SYSTEM MAY NOT ACT AS INTENDED.
R/2017/083, launched 30 April 2017, 8 vehicles affected across the models it covers. Also covers the QX30
Defect: In certain circumstances the Airbag Control Unit (ACU) may not be correctly configured. This may cause the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) not to perform as intended in the event of an accident.
Remedy: On affected vehicles reprogram with latest ACU software
AIRBAG MAY NOT DEPLOY CORRECTLY
R/2016/301, launched 1 February 2017, 3 vehicles affected across the models it covers. Also covers the QX30
Defect: It has been identified that due to a manufacturing error at the airbag manufacturer the chemical composition of the initiator (the compound that triggers the airbag deployment) of a limited number of passenger airbag inflators may not be to specification. Therefore it is possible that an affected airbag may not deploy in the event of an accident.
Remedy: Recall all affected vehicles to have the affected airbags replace with a new quality assured component.
ANCHORAGE POINT MAY BE INCORRECTLY POSITIONED AND MAY NOT RESTRAIN THE PASSENGER
R/2016/228, launched 12 December 2016, 283 vehicles affected across the models it covers. Also covers the QX30
Defect: Some vehicles may have an incorrectly assembled front seat belt with the right hand seat belt fitted on the left hand side or vice versa. This could cause the seat belt upper anchorage to be used at an incorrect angle; making it difficult for the customer to apply the seatbelt or slowing the retraction speed when removing the belt. In an extreme case the front seat belt may not restrain the front seat passenger.
Remedy: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and where necessary replace the front seat belts.
REAR SEAT BELT MAY NOT SECURE THE PASSENGER
R/2016/227, launched 12 December 2016, 2,250 vehicles affected across the models it covers. Also covers the QX30
Defect: The rear seat buckle nuts may not be fully secure. In this condition the seat belt buckle may make a rattle noise. In an extreme case the nut may come off and the rear seat belts will not restrain the rear seat passengers.
Remedy: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and where necessary torque the rear seat belt buckles nuts.

What to do next
If you own a Infiniti Q30, check its registration on GOV.UK and ask a Infiniti dealer whether any recall work is outstanding. If you are buying one, ask the seller for proof the work was done, and run a Motoring Insider history check for finance, write-offs and the MOT history.
