Every Nissan Pixo recall
Newest first. The concern is the part or system affected, the defect is what can go wrong, and the remedy is what the manufacturer does to put it right.
HEATER FAN MOTOR MAY OVERHEAT
R/2013/082, launched 30 July 2013, 14,548 vehicles affected across the models it covers
Defect: It is possible that the heater fan motor may seize at slow speed. Under extreme conditions this may cause the internal temperature of the heater fan circuit to increase. If this occurs the thermal fuse may not cut-out which will result in an overheating of the fan and its surrounding area. The driver will find smoke being exhaled via the heater vents and in extreme circumstances there could be a vehicle fire.
Remedy: Recall all affected vehicles and replace the heater motor thermal fuse with an up-rated item.
BRAKE LIGHTS MAY FAIL
R/2010/034, launched 15 April 2010, 646 vehicles affected across the models it covers
Defect: In some cases a higher electric current may cause the shift solenoid circuit contact in the stop lamp switch to burn/melt. Additionally the auto transmission selector may not move from the Park position
Remedy: Recall affected vehicles and replace stop lamp switch.
FUEL MAY LEAK
R/2009/144, launched 11 January 2010, 3,930 vehicles affected across the models it covers
Defect: It has been identified that due to an engineering fault in production a dimensional variation has occurred to the fuel pump seating. This may result in a possible fuel leak from the pump seating area whilst the vehicle is being fuelled.
Remedy: Recalled vehicles will have the fuel pump gasket and O replaced.

What to do next
If you own a Nissan Pixo, check its registration on GOV.UK and ask a Nissan dealer whether any recall work is outstanding. If you are buying one, ask the seller for proof the work was done, and run a Motoring Insider history check for finance, write-offs and the MOT history.
