Every Ford Ka recall
Newest first. The concern is the part or system affected, the defect is what can go wrong, and the remedy is what the manufacturer does to put it right.
UN-FUSED BATTERY MONITORING SYSTEM WIRE CHAFING
R/2019/228, launched 26 July 2019, 9,788 vehicles affected across the models it covers. Also covers the Figo
Defect: Un-fused Battery Monitoring System (BMS) Wire Chafing.
Remedy: Visual inspection of the BMS wiring and replace the wire if damage is identified. Cloth tape is to be used to wrap the BMS wiring and install a wiring harness retaining clip on all vehicles

R/2015/062, launched 12 May 2015, 260 vehicles affected across the models it covers
Defect: The rear seat belt buckle (catch) could be defective. In the event of a frontal impact a defective buckle could fail causing the rear seat occupant to be unrestrained by the seat belt.
Remedy: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to check the rear seat belt buckles and if found to be part of the defective batch new buckles will be fitted.

What to do next
If you own a Ford Ka, check its registration on GOV.UK and ask a Ford dealer whether any recall work is outstanding. If you are buying one, ask the seller for proof the work was done, and run a Motoring Insider history check for finance, write-offs and the MOT history.
