Every Ford Transit Connect recall

Newest first. The concern is the part or system affected, the defect is what can go wrong, and the remedy is what the manufacturer does to put it right.

  1. Transit Courier: Diesel DV-Neo Engine Coolant Pump Update

R/2026/237, launched 15 June 2026. Also covers the Focus, Kuga, Tourneo Connect, Transit Courier

Defect: Affected vehicles may have been repaired using a coolant pump with a potential issue. This issue may lead to incorrect engine timing resulting in an engine failure causing a sudden loss of power without prior warning. The engine cannot be restarted.

Remedy: Check and replace the water pump and timing belt if necessary.

  2. MVL: REAR-VIEW CAMERA DISTORTED AND/OR LOSS OF IMAGE

R/2026/213, launched 28 May 2026. Also covers the Edge, Mustang

Defect: Affected vehicles may have an issue with the rear-view camera. Drivers may experience a distorted or loss of image.

Remedy: Check vehicle and replace camera as required.

  3. 25C74 Transit Connect Tourneo Connect - Position Lights Not Operating Correctly

R/2026/180, launched 29 April 2026. Also covers the Tourneo Connect

Defect: Affected vehicles may not have the remedy for recall 22C32 installed correctly. These vehicles may still have the incorrect configuration loaded onto the Body Control Module which may prevent the position lights from functioning as intended.

Remedy: Update the Daytime Running Lamps configuration and perform a software verification procedure.

  4. 24S69 - Tourneo Connect Transt Connect - Potential leaky screw connection in the brake circuit

R/2025/007, launched 10 December 2024. Also covers the Tourneo Connect

Defect: Affected vehicles potentially have a leaking screw connection in the rear left brake circuit. There is potential for the brake system to lack hydraulic pressure resulting in longer brake pedal travel and reduced brake performance.

    Remedy: Replace the affected part.

  5. 24S29 - Transit Connect Panoramic Roof

    R/2024/280, launched 29 August 2024

Defect: Transit Connect vehicles fitted with glass panoramic roofs may be subject to wind noise water leak and in rare cases separation from the vehicle.

Remedy: Remove and re-install glass roof.

  6. On certain vehicles an incorrect configuration was loaded onto the Body Control Module (BCM).

R/2023/024, launched 31 January 2023, 235 vehicles affected across the models it covers

Defect: On certain vehicles an incorrect configuration was loaded onto the Body Control Module (BCM).

Remedy: Update the Daytime Running Lamps software configuration.

  7. AN IMPROPER BOND MAY EXIST BETWEEN THE PANORAMIC ROOF AND THE VEHICLE BODY

R/2020/140, launched 4 September 2020, 3,469 vehicles affected across the models it covers

Defect: An improper bond may exist between the panorama roof and the vehicle body.

R/2020/044, launched 21 February 2020, 9 vehicles affected across the models it covers

Defect: The brake booster diaphragm plate can crack causing the internal membrane to split and leading to sudden loss of brake performance.

Remedy: Replace the brake booster (servo).

  9. VEHICLE COULD SUFFER CLUTCH PRESSURE PLATE FRACTURE

R/2018/350, launched 22 February 2019, 554 vehicles affected across the models it covers

Defect: A number of vehicles fitted with a 1.0 1.5 or 1.6 Ecoboost engine and 6-speed manual transmission could suffer clutch pressure plate fracture. This results in clutch smell reduced vehicle speed and performance. In the unlikely event of clutch pressure plate fracture a noise (thud / bang) could be heard from the vicinity of the transmission in extreme cases resulting in clutch / transmission fragments being released and striking under hood components creating a risk of smoke and fire from the under hood area.

Remedy: To prevent the repeated heating /cooling events a new calibration has been developed for vehicles fitted with Engine Stop Start feature. The software with the additional feature sets the Instrument panel ‘Wrench light’ and de-rates the engine performance if prolonged clutch slip is detected. The software feature includes a drive cycle strategy for latching the wrench light and engine performance de-rate if the customer should experience repeated clutch slip events. For vehicles that do not have Engine Stop Start feature an alternative clutch kit has been released.

  10. CLUTCH PRESSURE PLATE MAY FRACTURE

R/2018/194, launched 16 July 2018, 199 vehicles affected across the models it covers

  11. THE ENGINE CYLINDER HEAD MAY CRACK

R/2018/009, launched 8 January 2018, 9 vehicles affected across the models it covers

Defect: Localized overheating of the engine cylinder head may cause the cylinder head to crack. This may cause a pressurized oil leak which in extreme circumstances could result in a fire in the engine compartment.

Remedy: On affected vehicles Inspect engine and cooling system. Replace affected components and fit a Coolant Level Sensor along with associated software to provide and audible and visual warning to the driver.

  12. PANORAMIC ROOF GLASS MAY DETACH

R/2016/244, launched 9 January 2017, 313 vehicles affected across the models it covers. Also covers the Tourneo Connect

Defect: It has been identified that the mating surface of the vehicle body for the panoramic glass roof panel may have been contaminated during the primer phase of the instigation process. There is a possibility that this could cause poor adhesion between the panoramic glass roof panel and the vehicle body. This could result in wind noise water leaks and in the worst cases detachment of the panoramic glass roof.

Remedy: Recall all affected vehicles to remove clean body and re-bond the panoramic glass roof panel.
